"Every 3rd Refresh" Policy & FAQs

For a select few of our clients, Mere offered a free redesign every 3rd year of service. If you're on this page, you've been directed here by a Mere employee because your website falls under this bonus option.

What's Changed?

We've made the switch from WordPress to a new custom platform, Gospel.io. We're excited about the possibilities here, but we also want to do right by our current clients who use and rely on WordPress in their day to day.

Your position is unique because we are no longer building new websites on WordPress as of 2024. At the same time, we have promised a redesign every 3rd year to you, free of charge, which brings us to the issue at hand.

We want to do right by our guarantee and offer you a redesign every 3rd year as promised. That said, we're no longer offering this feature, so moving to Gospel.io will change the terms of your website, and we'll no longer be offering free redesigns every third year.

However, changing themes is easier on Gospel.io than WordPress, so you'll be eligible to redesign at any time by selecting a new theme and paying us $99 to install it on your website and verify that everything looks correct.

I want to stay on WordPress. Is that all right?

Of course! If you are happy on WordPress, we own't drive you away! You'll still be eligible for a site refresh every 3rd year from one of our selected options: Jubilee, Saved, or Maranatha.

Why are you moving away from WordPress?

Basically, untethering from the Wordpress ecosystem into one we built ourselves lets us control our world better. Wordpress shifted its development philosophy and is locking us out of some options we had previously, and the theme supplier we were banking on decided to quit making and supporting themes.

How can I take advantage of our free redesign and make the move to Gospel.io?

We're not able to offer a Gospel.io site for free, but we can save you money in the long-term. A new Gospel.io MereChurch is $99/mo — less than what you're paying currently. You'll break even after a while, and start being ahead after about 18 months.

Additionally, since we know the “redesign every third year” was a selling point for you, I’d like to discount our MereChurch setup fee by 50%. That will cash out for you that much sooner, and you’ll be saving from then on. Your upfront cost for a new MereChurch will be $499, instead of $999.

After that, we’re then offering a design switch on demand for a $99 fee (in place of the new every three for the future).

At the same time, we would have felt bad not giving you the new (better) pricing option.
