Custom Dev Policy

If you would like custom development work done on your MereChurch, we are happy to accommodate that!

This agreement is made between the client (“Client”) and Mere, LLC, an Iowa limited liability company, (“MERE”), effective upon the payment of an invoice that references this agreement, and effective until either party ends the engagement.

By ordering custom development work for your website, you agree to the following terms:

All work is case-by-case and you can refuse individual line items.

All custom development work is billed at our standard rate of $150/hour, and each individual item will be quoted for you to accept or decline. All work on your website will be governed by the Master Services Agreement that you agreed to when you signed up for your MereChurch website.

Future MereChurch updates are not guaranteed

MereChurch is a single-codebase application. This means that all updates push to all websites. Once we add customizations to your codebase, you are no longer in the same repository as all other MereChurches. This means your install will be 'frozen' at whatever point it was branched off from the main codebase.

Future quarterly MereChurch updates can be installed on your website for a flat-rate fee of $1000. We will bill this amount for each release 'behind' that your site is (for example, if you branched off at 1.5, skipped 1.6, and would like to bring your website in line with 1.7, we would charge $2000). This flat fee covers any integration work that may need to be done to integrate your custom features with the new features on MereChurch.

Your custom code may be used to improve the MereChurch platform

If you request a feature that we have already planned to include in MereChurch, we may use your payment to expedite an already-planned feature. This will make the feature available on all MereChurch websites as well as yours, and helps make the platform better for all of our church partners!

Custom designs without any functionality changes are available for a set price.

If you would like a different visual option than our three available themes, but are happy with the functionality of the platform, you can order a custom design for $12,000. You will still be subject to paid updates moving forward, but this is the easiest/fastest way to build a custom-designed church website while still benefitting from the MereChurch platform.
